Raven K. Cokley, NCC, M.Ed., is the visionary and founder of Brilliant Black Girl, Inc. As a high-achieving Black girl from a single-parent home, she began to realize how different her educational experiences were compared to her White counterparts and other students from upper-class backgrounds.
After graduating with honors from her high school’s IB program in 2009, Raven K. decided to attend the University of Central Florida, where she majored in Psychology and double-minored in Spanish and Leadership Studies. Afterwards, she chose to attend the University of Georgia, to pursue a Master’s of Education degree in Professional Community Counseling.
Upon graduating in 2015, Raven K. returned home to work as a college and career readiness advocate for underrepresented students. It was during this time that she received the God-ordained vision for Brilliant Black Girl, Inc. The following year, she returned to UGA to pursue a doctoral degree in Counselor Education.
